Although our musicians have been playing together since 2000, SIMPLY STRINGS was officially established by myself, Annemi Phillips, in 2008.

I completed my music degree at UCT, played in numerous ensembles, chamber groups and the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra until 2016. At this stage, I decided to focus on Simply Strings and bring music to events and weddings across the Western Cape. We have been fortunate to be part of hundreds of weddings and events, visit gorgeous wine farms and up until today, each and every occasion and client is as special as the next!

For me, the focus has always been on everything string-related. Therefore, we have continuously been the top choice for clients who value musical skill, an unequalled blend of strings and the great vibe brought by our musicians. Our combined experience in the event & wedding industry, reliability and attention to detail will result in peace of mind, knowing that the musical part of your event or function is in safe hands.

In addition, we are actively expanding our extensive song list after every event and wedding as we continuously take new requests for special moments such as bridal entrances. All new requests are arranged by myself and presented to couples ahead of time for entrance rehearsals.
